Oglethorpe
University Counseling Center invites applicants for the position of
Counseling Center Resource Counselor. This is a part-time, term limited
position working approximately 10 to 16 hours per week. The Resource
Counselor reports to the Counseling Center Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide
crisis intervention services to students in distress and follow-up with
students seeking after hours mental health support.
- A focus on identifying off campus resources and providing clinical case management for students.
- Provide culturally competent direct services, including individual counseling, couples and group counseling to college students.
- Consult
with faculty, staff, family/support people, and students with regard to
student mental health or behavioral concerns and support.
- Communicate with off-campus mental health professionals to coordinate referrals and specialized care.
- Document
all clinical contacts and maintain confidentiality in accordance with
professional codes of ethics and associated state licensing laws and
regulations.
- Participate in regularly scheduled Counseling Center team meetings and Student Affairs Division staff meetings.
- Establish liaisons with various campus organizations and groups and provide campus outreach to students, faculty, and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters’ degree in mental health counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy
- Associate license to practice under supervision in the state of Georgia (ex. LAPC, LAMFT, LMSW).
- Experience working with diverse and underserved populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice independently in the State of GA (ex. Licensed Psychologist, LCSW, LMFT or LPC)
- Experience working in college/university counseling or working with adolescents and young adults.
- Crisis management experience
- Able to provide therapy in Spanish.
Additional Information:
- This is a part-time, term limited position.
- Working evenings or weekends may be required.
- The position is a hybrid position requiring both in-person and remote work.
